Finally had the continental wintercontacts mounted on the wheels I was working on. Look pretty good from about 10 feet away. So I’m calling that a job well done.

I’m kinda diggin’ that single spoke color detail thing. I was thinking maybe a reflective stripe or something might be neat too.

Yeah. I might do this again for a set of track wheels or something. 17" wheels are cheaper than the stock 18s and seem to have better tire options. So I might cook up a different design for that one. But I believe it was rally cars that used to do the one-spoke color change or whatever. Could be wrong. But it works quite well on winter wheels with the chunky snow tires.

Looks good, sidenote: Are those Volvo rims or am I losing it

Definitely Volvo rims. XC90 wheels.

Hmmm. It’s acceptable. Is there a gloss you can put on the wheels? Flat black just screams rattle can or terrible brake dust.

There is a clearcoat. It’s not too deep of a clearcoat though and needs some polishing. Also the lighting was crap so it looks dull. It won’t dazzle your eyes, but it does look a lot better than rattle can flat black.
Actually it’s nice in person since the paint is some duplicolor chrysler paint with a mild pearl effect. I got it when a store near me was clearancing out their paint section so they were 2$ a can.
